ITV Anglia Tonight News Story and Interview April 2010

About Me...
I live in Peterborough and after a long career with a blue chip company I took a voluntary release package and so enjoyed a really long career break. This allowed me to fully focus on Powerlifting training and competitions.
I now work in Cambridge at a Village College and after the building of a new fitness centre on-site, I plan to start a Powerlifting Club there - how exciting!

I train at Fengate Health & Fitness Centre; a well-equipped gym with a great atmosphere and the right attitude! I train when I can with my training partner who helps keep me focused and motivated as well as getting plenty of good coaching from gym owner Dave; an ex-Powerlifter and overall great-guy!

I discovered Powerlifting whilst on holiday at one of my favourite destinations; Club La Santa - a sports resort in Lanzarote where a chance meeting in a gym with 2 World Champions convinced me I'd be a natural given my years of gym training and apparent strength for a fairly light woman on the short-side(!).

I'm still hugely passionate about my need to keep fit and healthy and love the focus of training towards a goal i.e.competitions; there really is nothing like the surge of adrenaline a competition gives you!

Ask me if you're interested in getting into Powerlfiting. It's an excellent competitive sport since it's all about relative strength; regardless of your size and bodyweight, it's ultimately all down to you and what you're capable of lifting.....and more than anything it's about what your genetics have given you, what you've trained it to do and how you combine the two naturally!

Thank You to gym owner David Laycock for his support, advice and supplements which has all helped me no end!
Thanks also to the guys in the gym for putting up with chalk all over the floor after I've trained, and for giving me the odd spot and load when No 1 Training Buddy Mat, isn't around!

A special Thank You also to Ian Allin, who also trains at the gym - your generosity is really appreciated.

Desperately Seeking Sponsorship!

Thanks go out to those who support me:

However I'm still currently seeking corporate sponsorship to help cover my expenses with European and World travel to the coming events. Anyone who competes internationally in an amateur sport will agree that its done for the love of it - not any financial gain.

I'm happy to endorse any products or services in return for corporate sponsorship, and enjoy public speaking about my passion for Powerlifting!

If you're interested in sponsoring me please contact me at the following, Thanks!:-
